Our Successes of the 2019/2020 Season
Bill Neilson Volunteer of the Year Award
The Fortunato Family
The Fortunato Family won the Skate Canada 2020 Bill Neilson Volunteer of the Year Award.
The Fortunato Family showed mazing efforts through all of their years with the Summerland Skating Club. They handle huge amounts of volunteer work including majority of the volunteer positions at our first ever hosted competition. Also with our ice shows handling props, costumes, transport, videoing, photography, set up, take down, and so much more. They continue to offer all of the help they can and try everything to make our club better and the work load easier on others. |
Okanagan Region Program Assistant of the Year Award
Keelyn Mitchell
Keelyn Mitchell won the Skate Canada 2020 Program Assistant of the Year Award for the Okanagan Region.
Keelyn was always the first helper on the ice and ready to help her coaches as much as she could. She always had such a wonderful, positive, bubbly attitude that she was ready to pass on to the younger skaters. Keelyn always asked if there was anything else she could do or how she could help coaches, parents and skaters. We celebrate people like Keelyn and are so thankful for all of her amazing help and positivity. |
Okanagan Region CanSkate of the Year Award
Chloe Young
Chloe Young won the Skate Canada 2020 Okanagan Region CanSkate of the year award.
Chloe comes to every session with a huge smile on her face and ready to give everything she's got to the sport of skating. She is an attentive listener and always tries her hardest whether in a group or on her own. Chloe is both a great leader and follower. Ms. Young is a wonderful example of a star CanSkate. You can now find her on the ice with our Star Academy's! |
